Last year 88 year-old Jean Chippett, a resident at Fletcher House care home in Wells, submitted a painting of two young girls paddling in the sea to the Somerset Care Artwork Competition.
On March 6, 2013 Jean's artwork was voted the best by 160 delegates at a dementia conference hosted by Somerset Care.
Speaking on Jean's achievement, Carol Mohide, Manager of the home, said: "We are all extremely pleased with Jean's success and think she is a very talented artist.
"Winning the iPad for the home is really exciting and the residents are looking forward to using it."
Jean paints at an artwork group in the home run by a local artist who volunteers at the home.
Her winning painting has been showcased in the 2013 Somerset Care calendar.
