Emergency Services were called to a car engulfed in flames on Old Frome Road in Wells last night.

The vehicle was found ablaze in a layby outside Mendip Golf Course yesterday evening at 7.20pm by Wells fire fighters and police.

A spokesperson for The Fire Service said: "Upon arrival crews confirmed this vehicle too heavily involved in fire and crews got to work using 2 hose reel jets.

"The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate."

Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
