Glastonbury and Wells Cats Protection are urging cat-owners to take advantage of their Neutering Campaign this winter.
Kittens Ava and Avalon in need of re-homing, currently with Cats protection
The charity is offering cat owners the chance to get their furry friends neutered and micro-chipped for just £15. Cats protection will then pay off the rest of the balance.
The campaign will be running from September until November 30 2012.
This campaign was started in light of the extremely difficult year Cats Protection has had, dealing with unwanted cats and kittens.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "Our pens are full to bursting with unwanted cats and kittens.
"No-one seems to be offering new homes and waiting lists are growing daily. Our waiting list for cats to come in for rehoming currently stands at 10 weeks.
"We have several litters of kittens who really need immediate attention and rehoming whilst they are young, but we simply cannot give it."
"If you love your cat we urge you to take advantage of this offer and do the right thing. If you don't care enough, why have you got a cat in the first place?"
The offer is open to cat and kitten owners who are on benefit and/ or low income support to in Glastonbury, Wells, Street, Shepton Mallet and Castle Cary. Pedigree cats will not be accepted.
