Champagne Thieves strike near Wells

Police are urging members of the public to be vigilant following the theft of champagne and quality white wine from the Wells area.

The champagne – 144 bottles - and 120 bottles of white wine were in a refrigerated trailer which was parked in Henley Lane, Wookey overnight between Saturday June 23 and Sunday June 24.
Thieves forced their way into the trailer between midnight and 3.30am and took the bottles.
Police have released images of the champagne and wine taken.
The champagne, valued at £2800, is Andre Goutorbe while the white wine (valued at £1800), is Pouilly Fume.
Police are urging members of the public, publicans and shopkeepers to be vigilant and contact them if offered the wine or champagne.
