Christmas Eve assault at Wells pub The King's Head

A man suffered injuries to the face after a Christmas Eve assault at The King's Head pub in Wells.

Police are now appealing to witnesses who may have information about the assault, or who may be able to identify two men sought in connection with the crime.

The victim was assaulted at 11pm as he was getting ready to leave the pub after a night out with friends. Two men then approached him and one knocked him to the ground in an unprovoked assault.

He was knocked to the floor and suffered injuries to his face.

Police officers have provided descriptions of two men they are seeking in connection with the incident.

One man is described as white, around 6ft tall with fair hair and aged between 18 – 19 years-old. He was of stocky build and was wearing a pale blue shirt with a collar that was undone on Christmas Eve.

The second man has also been described as white and aged approximately 18-19 years old. However, he is said to have a chubby build with mousey brown hair and stands approximately 5ft 6 inches tall. This man was seen wearing a checked shirt.

Officers investigating the incident are asking anyone with information about these two men and/ or the incident to call the police on 101 quoting the crime reference 138465/12.
