The Bishop's Palace in Wells is searching for volunteers to join their team of guides.

Volunteers are needed to help with the extended range of tours organised by the palace. They will lead Palace Water Walks and Horticulture tours and inform visitors about the history of the gardens.

A Bishop's Palace spokesman said: "As well as learning about the importance of water to this heritage site and the gardens guides will be given expert tuition on leading groups on a tour, including groups of children and young people here on educational visits.

"This is the ideal role for people who love history, gardens and most importantly, other people.

"We already have a passionate and dedicated team of guides here but we are always looking to extend the family.

"Full training and support is given to get you going and it's also a great way to make new friends and meet likeminded people. "

To apply for a volunteer post please contact Anneli Connold on 01749 988111, extension 202 by Thursday March 28.
