Local Charity Eligible for 100% Match Funding this Christmas!

GEMS Scrapstore & Play Resource Centre based in Wells, are one of the local charities who have signed up to the Local Giving Funding Scheme which allows generous individuals to make financial donations on-line to support the charity's work.

A

recent announcement by Local Giving revealed a generous individual has

made a substantial fund available which means that for a limited time,

every £1 donated to GEMS Scrapstore, another £1 will be matched.

Scrapstore Manager Laura Kavanagh said:

"This

is a fantastic opportunity for our charity to receive a much needed

financial boost during really difficult times. We urge anyone who would

like to contribute towards the work we do for our community to visit our

Local Giving page and make a donation - however small it will be really

gratefully received. We are a charity with a genuine desire to provide

benefits to our entire community. But without the support of our

community, we struggle"

The Scrapstore provides low cost

resources which have been collected as waste from businesses, to the

community for art, craft, education and play. This supports work in

schools, community groups and children's centres and enabling valuable

front-line work to be delivered within budget for many struggling

groups. Families and individuals can also make use of the materials.
