Man charged after police revisit 13 year-old Wookey assault case

A local man has been charged with an assault that occurred in Wookey 13 years ago.

Clive Edwards, 58 from Wookey, was charged with GBH with intent today and is due to appear at Yeovil Magistrates Court on March 14.

The assault took place during April 2000 and the victim suffered serious leg injuries.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Although the assault was investigated at the time and a man arrested, he was released without charge but the case remained open and was recently reviewed."
