Police are seeking witnesses following a burglary of a property in the Wells area.

The incident occurred on Friday August 5, between 2.30-4pm when entry was forced via a window at a cottage in Priddy.

The property was searched and then two televisions (a 16 inch flat screen and 22 inch flat screen), a Certina watch with black and white strap, gold antique ladies watch, cash, a green-coloured Mulberry travel case were taken.

Police enquiries have revealed that a silver coloured estate vehicle – possibly a Ford Mondeo – was spotted on the driveway at the property and a man was seen hanging about in the area.

He is described as a white man, about 25-40 years old, about six feet tall of slim build with mousey/brown collar-length coloured hair, which was untidy in appearance. The suspect was reported to be wearing what appeared to be white decorating style overalls.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time who may have seen the man or the car.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Wells police on 0845 4567000.

Police are also urging anyone being offered any of the items to contact them. Call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org They will never ask for your name or trace your call.
