Temperatures are set to plummet lower than freezing tonight leaving Wells roads icy and dangerous
Tonight, temperatures are set to drop to around -2 °C, forcing the Met Office to issue another severe weather warning of ice for tomorrow morning.
Temperatures are set to remain extremely low, so the Met Office's yellow warning will be in place all day.
Met Office chief forecaster Martin Young said: "Many parts will stay icy over the next few days, and there is the continuing risk of some snow at times almost anywhere.
"The heaviest snow, however, is expected across parts of eastern England and eastern Scotland through Sunday night and Monday, bringing the risk of disruption in some areas.
"Everyone should keep up to date with the latest weather information and plan ahead for possible travel delays and disruption to transport during this spell of wintry weather."
Forecasters said further snow and sleet showers are possible in the South West tomorrow morning.
"As temperatures fall below freezing on Monday night into Tuesday morning, icy stretches are likely on untreated surfaces especially in areas where any further sleet, snow or rain has fallen on Monday," said the Met Office in its weather warning.
"In addition, further rain reaching the South West on Monday night may extend north and east on Tuesday across southern Britain readily turning to sleet and snow."
