The Blue School in Wells beat their personal best last week as students topped the tables receiving the highest GCSE results the school has ever seen.

81% of students received five or more A* - C grades and one third of all GCSE examinations taken at the school received the top A* and A grades. 99% of students at The Blue School received at least one GCSE pass.

High achievers at the school include Natasha Kurle who received eleven A*s and two As, Elizabeth Allen with ten A*s, two As and one B and Anna Williams who received ten A*s.

Steve Jackson, Head Teacher at The Blue School was brimming with pride for every single student in the year-group:

"These students have been a wonderful group throughout their time at the school and we knew they had the potential to do something special in their examinations.  How fitting in this Olympic year that we have our own group of record breakers!

"As well as those who have gained the top grades there are a number of individuals who have had to overcome significant difficulties to complete their courses at the school.

"We are proud of each and every one of our students."
