Wells Halloween 2012: Spooky events in and around the city

Halloween is creeping up on Wells and there is plenty on in and around the City for little monsters and grown up ghouls to get their teeth into.
The dark and dank Wookey Hole caves are eerie at the best of times but this Halloween the organisers are putting on a spooky show that will send shivers down your spines.
Those who dare are being invited in for an extra spooky tour of the caves and afterwards visitors will have the opportunity to creep into the witch's grotto and receive a gruesome gift from the infamous resident witch of Wookey and her minions.
There will also be a spooky Halloween Circus held three times a day during the holiday featuring Witches, Warlocks and other mysterious characters who will performing trapeze acts, magic demonstrations and much more.

The King's Head Pub
The King's Head Pub are holding inviting locals to avoid the onslaught of local trick-or-treaters on October 31 and join them for an eerie evening at their medieval free-house.
The pub have gone all out this Halloween to create an authentically terrifying atmosphere with flickering light-bulbs, original decorations, eerie background music and a host of spooky staff in fancy dress all day.
The festivities start at 6pm next Wednesday and will include a themed Halloween menu, a £100 bar-tab prize for the best fancy dress, a free glass of punch for all those in fancy dress, Halloween themed drinks and a scary surprise at 8pm.

The Globe Inn
The Globe Inn will be holding a week of frightening festivities from Monday 29 October to celebrate the spooky holiday.
A Halloween special will be on the menu every day that week and on Wednesday 31 October they will be holding a horrifyingly hard Halloween quiz with great prizes and much more.
On Satrurday November 3, the pub will be holding the first ever 'Globe Fright Fest' where they are encouraging patrons to dress up in frightening fancy dress. Those who oblige will be given a free spooky shot.
Halloween themed cocktails will also be on offer so it's set to be a ghastly but good night.
Great Shake Bar
Great Shake Bar in Wells is holding a Horrifying Halloween Happy Hour on all Hallows' Eve from 5-6pm.
The retro milkshake bar will be showcasing some Halloween themed monstrous milkshakes and offering free whipped cream to everyone who buys one.
The Crown at Wells
This spooky 15th century building has heard its share of terrifying tales from its past patrons and the pub staff have decided to put on a Zombie night on the evening of October 31 starting at 8pm.
The pub is inviting patrons to dress up (or down) as the un-dead and enjoy some grisly cocktails and mocktails on sale at the bar all night.
