These changes are part of widespread adjustments across Somerset, which the travel company say will "improve reliability and punctuality."
Earlier, later and additional journeys will be added to services across the area and include routes in Axminster, Bath, Bridgwater, Bristol, Dulverton, Taunton, Watchet, and Yeovil as well as Wells.
A First group spokesman said: "Some of these changes have been made in response to passenger requests while others are to improve reliability and punctuality.
"Others will significantly enhance the service that we offer to our customers."
The routes affected in Wells are as follows...
Service 29 between Wells and Taunton
Service 29 (Taunton – Wells) will now travel an altered route, via Brittons Ash rather than Monkton Heathfield, to provide Brittons Ash residents with a direct link to Wells Bus Station and Taunton Railway Station.
Furthermore, to improve punctuality, this service will no longer operate directly within the grounds of West Mendip Hospital but instead use the bus stops outside the main road, near the hospital.
Service 126 between Wells and Weston-Super-Mare
The route has been altered on this service between Weston-super-Mare, Marine Parade and Locking Castle - The Barrows and will once again be operating via Locking Road.
Bus stops on Station Road, Winterstoke Road and Marchfields Way will no longer be in use by this service.
The new route follows passenger requests to provide more common stops with the Bakers Dolphin Service 121.
In addition, the 8am Monday to Friday journey from Weston-super-Mare, Marine Parade to Wells will now depart ten minutes earlier at 7.50am
The 7.12am Saturday service from Winscombe to Weston-super-Mare has also been extended to start from Cheddar, Tweentown at 7am.
Service 173 between Wells and Bath
First bus service 173 (Bath - Wells) will be adding two additional journeys to this service on Sundays and public holidays.
A bus will now leave at 9.35am from Bath Bus Station to Wells which means that the first journey of the day will now be 90 minutes earlier than the present timetable. The bus will now arrive in Wells before 11.00am.
Additionally an 11.16am journey from Wells Bus Station to Bath has been added to plug a three hour gap in the existing timetable.
The bus service will now run every 90 minutes Monday to Saturday.
New timetables are available to view online now at www.firstgroup.com and passengers are advised to check their routes carefully before travelling.
