Wells is a wonderful place to live and work for many reasons, not least because there is some exquisite dining to be enjoyed within the city. 

Christmas is a wonderful chance to indulge in some of the finest food and excellent company, in fact the only quandary is where to start and whether your diary will allow requisite returns visits your appetite will doubtless command?

To help you decide within one simple web page we have collated some sumptuous menus:

Goodfellows Christmas Eve menu - 4 Courses £55.00 

Amuse bouche 

'Iced Cosmopolitan', raw marinated sea bass with lime and coriander  

Starters 

Twice baked lobster soufflé with fennel and tarragon

Tuna plate – sashimi with nori, seared with black pepper and caper berry,  

carpaccio 'sandwich' with crab and papaya      

Or

Wood pigeon and foie gras terrine, Californian black Muscat jelly 

Mains 

Fillet of beef with truffle and onion soubise, slow cooked beef with smoked mash, caramelised onion with Madeira 

Or

Pan fried brill with a salmon and pancetta 'chipolata',  

roast chicken jus with sage

Halibut with a green olive and lemon brioche crust,  

layers of red pepper and aubergine with pecorino and thyme 

Desserts & Cheese 

Iced Christmas pudding parfait, warm mulled wine pears, candied orange
