Wells weather forecast for the coming week

Wells might look more picturesque than ever with a layer of snow adorning every surface, but our steep hills mean that we're all reliant on road clearing services and a good dose of public spirit to get moving again when the snow starts falling in earnest.
The good news for us this week is that although it's been snowing since around 7:30 this morning, it's not settling and is due to taper off as the morning progresses and will cease by this after noon.
Tuesday is due to be mainly cloudy with perhaps a few spots of rain making way for snow to return on Wednesday but indications are that any snow showers are likely to be short-lived and rather half-hearted.
That's all the snow we have been advised to expect for this week, apologies to any children and enthusiastic Dads who are already dusting-off their sledges, we don't think there will be long to wait for a decent whiteout. We are advised that the threat of any school closures this week due to the snow is minimal which may come as a relief to working parents.
Now might be a good time to stash a few extra portions in the freezer to save you from having to venture out should the city grind to a halt like we remember last December.
If you have any concerns about whether your car is up to more austere conditions, please have a read of our article on what checks are recommended and local garages who will be able to help you should you need it.
Go steady out there folks.

ReportI believe it has settled quite a lot up on the Mendips. I hope it doesn't settle here in Wells or in Pilton, because I've got a big skittles cup quarter final there tomorrow night!

ReportAre you sure? The flakes where I am are quite large, fluffy & look like they are going to start settling to me! Also I saw a few cars coming from the Mendips direction with a good inch of snow, who's to say we won't get it too?
