Young man fined over cannabis

Twenty-year-old Liam Smith from Algar Court, Parsons Way, Wells, pleaded guilty to possession of 2.3 grams of cannabis before magistrates in Frome.

Smith was caught after police approached a parked vehicle in Glastonbury on June 24, suspecting the occupants were smoking the drug.

Smith was fined £135. Court costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge were also added to the fine. He had received a caution for a similar offence six months earlier.
