I have been thinking of forming a business network aimed at those who are self employed, working from home, running an on-line business etc. There seem to be several things locally aimed at larger businesses - but not those of us running things on a much smaller basis.

The aim would be mutual support, sharing ideas, etc. The whole thing would be quite informal and at no cost. Perhaps meeting once a month.

Just wondering what other think.

Sounds interesting Mike, I imagine that in this day & age where anyone with an internet connection can trade online there are a significant number of people who would welcome mutual support & idea sharing among peers, but aren't yet ready to join a fee-paying organisation? Give it a whirl, there's nothing to lose!

I have a couple of friends who run online businesses in Wells but are so up against it timewise, would be unlikely to free-up the time. Also, this website is only just over a year old & while the readership is pretty impressive (if the reporting figures I receive are anything to go on), but only the merest fraction of folks feel confident enough to post their opinions. The Kings Head host regular events which you may want to attend to get a feel for likely take-up and you could also be invited to one of the BNI's breakfast meetings to network with the local movers and shakers. I don't have a business page on Twitter or Facebook. I'm not looking to spend much time on this myself - was thinking about say 1 or 2 hrs a month. Having run my own little business for 3 years now I know that a few small tips from friends have really helped me. I not looking for help myself but merely to share ideas / experiances.
