Percussion workshops from Ralph Salmins at Wells Cathedral School

Specialist percussion workshops are on offer at Wells Cathedral School this March.

Workshops and demonstrations will be held by celebrated percussionist Ralph Salmins, open to all interested percussion and drum kit players.

Jayne Obradovic, head of Percussion at Wells Cathedral School said: "We are thrilled that Ralph is able to take time out of his busy touring schedule to come to Wells. Following Ralph's drum kit masterclass, the Wells percussion team will introduce the world of percussion to the audience."

Ralph Salmins' professional career began in 1980 and has continued to bring him recognition worldwide.

His credits include radio and TV commercials, motion picture soundtracks and performances on countless albums with artists from around the world.

Ralph has been nominated for the British Jazz Awards three times and was winner of the best drummer category at the British Jazz Awards in 2006 and 2007.

He has worked with many artists including ABBA, Shirley Bassey, Madonna, Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, and The Four Tops.

The percussion day will take place between 10.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday March 9 in the Concert Hall of Wells Cathedral School.
