-
The Mendip Vintage and Classic Tour ending on Wells Cathedral Green
being urged to enter a charity event being held in May.
The Mendip Vintage and Classic Tour ends on
Wells Cathedral Green on Sunday, May 15, and entries are now open.
This will be the 17th year that the Mendip
Vintage and Classic Tour has been held, organised by the Classic and Historic
Motor Club.
The event is open to cars, light commercial
vehicles and motorcycles manufactured before 1991, and money will be raised for
Riding For the Disabled, which has a
branch in Burcott.
This year the start will be at Puxton Park,
near Weston-super-Mare, just off the Congresbury/Bristol A370, and about half a
mile from Junction 21 M5.
The route will take entrants through to
Banwell and the Loxton Valley, across to Wedmore, Congresbury and on to
Clevedon for a lunchtime stop at Clevedon Hall.
This is said to be a magnificent venue,
where the tour organisers are able to offer entrants pre-booked lunches, and
has excellent facilities for those who may wish to picnic.
The afternoon route will take the drivers
from Clevedon to Portishead, then across to the Chew Valley and on to the
finish on the spectacular Cathedral Green at Wells.
The presentation of prizes will take place
here, and entrants will be served a picnic tea while being entertained by the
Grey Dogs Jazz Band.
It promises to be a spectacular event for
the entrants and the punters watching the glorious machinery from the roadside.
To enter, fill in the entry form which can
be found here: http://www.candhmotorclub.co.uk/cdata/33012/docs/2790356_1.pdf
