Customers at Wells Leisure Centre are being asked to sign up for a six hour cycle race to raise money for charity this Friday.
Members of Avalon Leisure competing at last year's Race for Red event
Three local leisure centres, managed by Avalon Leisure, will be getting in the competitive spirit this Friday (1 February) during the annual Race for Red event for the British Heart Foundation, the company's charity partner.
Frome Leisure Centre, Wells Leisure Centre and Strode Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre will be racing to see who can build up the biggest accumulative distance on the centres' bike fitness equipment over six hours.
The event takes place between 1pm – 7pm.
Anyone can get involved by booking a ten minute race slot at the reception of their local centre.
Last year's event saw £406.86 raised for the British Heart Foundation and the year before, over £700 was raised.
Frome Leisure Centre has come out on top two years in a row, with its members cycling an impressive 369.65km over the six hour period.
In total the centres together cycled a massive 1,077km, which is the equivalent of cycling from the company's headquarters in Street to Milan in Italy.
