  Last week I had the most upsetting experience while shopping in Wells. For some reason unbeknown to me I became aware of a pigeon entangled in netting above the HSBC Bank. The bird was in obvious distress – trying desperately to free itself. I notified the bank, also a shop nearby. I also telephoned the HSBC who in turn told me to contact the RSPCA.   I was very sorry to see that the hand washer car service at Budgens Garage, in Bath Road, had finished. As a disabled driver I am unable to clean the car myself.   A Wells family woke up to a nasty surprise on Monday morning. Overnight Peter and Natalie Mills' car was clamped outside their house on South Street. There was a notice telling them if they did not pay £348 the car would be towed away and could even be sold at auction. This all related to a parking ticket that was issued to the family last June.   The Co-operative Group Membership Community Fund has donated £764 to ITHelp@Home. Wells branch manager Ann Loxton handed over the cheque to Ann Watson, a trustee of ITHelp@Home.
