South West Photographer Produces ‘No Ordinary Nude Calendar’ for National Breast Cancer Charity

A group of businesswomen from all over the UK are looking to raise thousands of pounds in aid of a national breast cancer charity – with the help of a photographer based near Wells.

Belinda McCarthy, who lives near Castle Cary, Somerset, joined forces with networking group Networking Women to shoot the calendar at Heythrop Park Hotel in Gloucestershire – featuring fourteen businesswoman of differing ages and backgrounds in sophisticated and elegant poses of undress.

“There are a lot of ‘naked charity calendars’ produced every year,” said Belinda, “but we wanted ours to be different – more of an artwork, that people who perhaps wouldn’t normally buy the ‘Calendar Girls’ style calendars would like.  As an art photographer, it’s a great opportunity for me to get involved with a fantastic cause and help Networking Women create something really unique and special.”

The 15 month calendar will be officially launched at a grand charity launch event at Heythrop Park Hotel, Chipping Norton, on October 7th – but preview images can be seen at Belinda’s website and on the Networking Women Facebook page, and pre-orders can be taken for calendars.

Belinda has lived and worked in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire before moving to Somerset, and her work has been featured in international art publications and the Tate Modern in London.

“We hope that we’ve produced a wonderful piece of art which anyone would be proud to hang in their house or office, or give as a Christmas gift,” said Belinda. “All profits go to Breast Cancer Haven, which supports integrated healthcare specifically designed to support people through their breast cancer treatment.”
