Miss Somerset finalist hosts ball for Help for Heroes

An Armed Forces Fancy Dress Party, organised by a Miss Somerset finalist, is being held in a Wells nightclub tomorrow night (Friday, May 14).

The party has been organised to raise money for the Help For Heroes charity, and will be held at Kudos nightclub from 10pm to 3am.

It has been set up by Alice Owen, of Glastonbury, who is through to the final of Miss Somerset.

Alice works as an estate agent in Shepton Mallet by day, and hopes to raise £1,000 at the event which will see revellers dressed up in an array of military gear.

She said: “Now that I have made it to the final I feel privileged that I was selected.

“I’m nervous because there are some beautiful girls that I am in competition with.

“If I won I would be over the moon and I would be more than willing to get working on organising events to raise money.

“It is such a brilliant opportunity to be able to be part of this competition.”

The Miss Somerset finals are held on May 20 at Bridgwater and Albion Rugby Football Club, with the winner going through to the semi-finals of Miss England.
